It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
Yep – its officially spooky season.
Am I the only one who has been ready for Halloween since last Halloween? Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.
Pumpkins, all things creepy and weird, ghosts, costumes, and let’s not forget – CANDY. Seriously, what’s not to love?
As a photographer, being able to capture sessions like this during the Halloween season is so much fun. I love being able to add a boudoir flare to Halloween costumes. In the past, I’ve incorporated smoke bombs while capturing children’s Halloween outfits. It’s such a blast and makes for the best keepsakes for parents and families.
In the famous words of Edward Scissorhands, “Everything has beauty – but not everyone sees it.”
That’s one of the coolest things about being able to capture a Halloween shoot like this one. I get to take something that’s not typically deemed as a beautiful (Halloween), and make it into art. With the help of some gorgeous subjects, of course.
This session took place in the downtown Fargo/Moorhead area. We shot in some pretty unique areas – from a parking ramp, to under a bridge.
The day of the shoot, it was raining ALL DAY, and stopped an hour before our session time. It made for the perfect dreary look and feel outside.
Fun fact – Scream and Edward Scissorhands are actually mom and daughter. And, Michael is Scream’s best friend!
It was truly an almost magic experience to have fun with these women on an eerily cloudy day. We got to embrace the spookiness of Halloween, while playing around with fun poses and locations and make them feel like the wicked queens that they are.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed making them. Cheers to a bloody fun session 😉
